Matt Alhberg – Sports Psychologist

Matt Alhberg is part of the TWGA team as our sports psychologist.  Matt is from Mental Notes Consulting and holds a Masters degree in Sport & Exercise Psychology from The University of Queensland.  Matt is dedicated to working with people who want to reach their potential and achieve their goals.

He consults to athletes of various ages, ability levels, and sports but has a specific focus in golf. Matt is currently involved with the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) golf, men’s hockey, and rowing programs.  Outside of the QAS, Matt consults to national and state sporting organisations, schools and colleges, and private academies.  The work involved with each of the various groups includes individual consultations, workshops, presentations, as well as high performance planning.

Matt has lectured in sport and exercise psychology at The University of Queensland and Griffith University, completed research on maximising athlete motivation and presented lectures and workshops on sport and performance psychology at national and international conferences.

Outside of sport, Matt has a special interest emotional health and well-being.  He regularly works with people to help them better understand themselves and to become more resilient in dealing with whatever life throws at them.
